Bees (2000+) were collected in South America. They now are wrapped in wet paper towels and frozen. Our task as Master Gardeners is to reconstitute them and pin them for display.
A plastic bag with maybe 6 bees is taken from the freezer and placed in simmering water for 30 minutes to cause the bees to thaw and absorb the moisture from the paper towel and once again become pliable. Guess one would call it reconstituting bees.
Then the legs and wings are positioned with pins. The bee is allowed to air dry before permanent mounting and identification.
Here's some photos of our session this morning.
There are also a few beetles.
